Many people do not know the definition of disability. Below is a definition that was borrowed from Ability Magazine.

It is important information to keep in mind...

Both job seekers and employers should keep in mind that disabilities come in many forms.

Not all disabilities are visible disabilities. For example, dyslexia, scoliosis, AIDS, diabetes, clubfoot, short stature, epilepsy and ADHD all fall under the category of disability.

If you are unsure of whether you have a disabilty please see the ADA definition below or contact any one of your local disability organizations for assistance. ie. Goodwill, Easter Seals, UCP, EEOC etc.

The ADA's Definition of Disability:
Title I - DEFINITIONS § 12102. [Section 3]

Disability: The term "disability" means, with respect to an individual.

(A) a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of such individual;

(B) a record of such an impairment; or
